World Prematurity Day 17th November 2017

We would like to highlight WHO World Prematurity Day. Premature birth is a very serious health problem. Worldwide, 15 million babies are born preterm and more than a million die as a result. Babies who survive often have lifelong health problems such as cerebral palsy, vision and hearing loss, and intellectual disabilities.

Contributing to essential research in this area we want to highlight the work of INTERGROWTH-21st - an Oxford-led project and INTERPRACTICE-21st which both aim to improve health outcomes for preterm babies worldwide.
